What’s in My Hospital Bags (First Time Mom)

January 5, 2018 by Vivian 2 Comments

Now that I have our bags packed for the hospital I wanted to share what I’m bringing as a first time mom so that once I’ve went through the experience I can update any other FTM’s on if I packed a little too excessively (probably) or if I had just enough. Since this is my first time I am bringing quite a bit, but I’d rather over pack than not have enough of something, so here’s what I’m bringing..

Updated* I had to share our new diaper bag! If you’re looking for an amazing dupe for the Fawn Design bag, this bag is amazing quality, and we are loving it!

For Baby |

| 3 outfits with socks, mittens, and hats to go with each.

| 2 swaddle/receiving blankets

| The Halo Sleepsack

| 1 baby blanket

| Boppy pillow

| Car seat and car seat cover

| Letter board for announcement

| Diaper rash cream, lotion, hand sanitizer, grooming kit, diapers, wipes. – I know that I maybe won’t need these things right away but I went ahead and packed them in the diaper bag so it’s ready to go.

For Me |

| 2 nursing tanks

| 1 pair of yoga pants

| 1 pair of sweats

| 2 casual tops

| 1 Robe

| 3 pairs of socks

| Flip flops for the shower

| Slippers

| Towel from home (this seems to be a big recommendation from people)

| Medication and vitamins

| Toiletries: makeup bag, travel size toothbrush/toothpaste, shampoo/conditioner, dry shampoo, hand sanitizer, makeup wipes, moisturizer, hair tools, deodorant, lip balm, hand lotion, hair ties and bobby pins.

| Gum, hard candies, snacks for after delivery and for my husband, cash and change for vending machines.

I’ll also be bringing my wallet and any forms/birth plan that I need. Phone chargers and electronics will be put in last minute as well. I made a checklist on my phone so right before we leave I can make sure that we grab those last minute items and also get things set up for family to come check on Pepper.

Let me know if you think I am over packing, or if I’ve missed anything you think I’d want at the hospital for comfort. I’m trying to keep in mind the supplies that they give you at the hospital and plan on utilizing them while I’m there.

Wish us luck as we go into the hospital this upcoming week! I can’t wait to share our journey!
