Nathan’s first birthday was such a fun success and I can’t believe it’s over! I had a couple of people ask to see all of the details from the party, especially asking for info on making a balloon arch, so of course I wanted to share!
We decided to go with a safari theme (with black, gold, and dark green as accents). You can check out my Pinterest board I created, where I pretty much got all of my ideas. I’m also going to link where I purchased everything below.

The balloon arch | this was SUPER easy to make as in; if I can do it, so can you! It was actually going to be much bigger but since I was making it myself I stopped when I did. #outofbreath #fingersweresore – anyway, I bought the balloon arch tape on Amazon and I paid about five bucks for it. I still have enough tape to do the rest of his birthdays for forever. So it’s a good deal! You literally blow up different color balloons, of different sizes and pull them through the arch tape. To make it look organic, don’t be precise with doing a pattern. Just go with the flow. Then you leave enough room on each end so you can tape it to the wall. Or use string to attach to the wall. SO easy and it added so much to the party.
Food | We did a huge pinwheel sandwich tray, pasta salad, veggie tray and then safari snacks which consisted of animal crackers, veggie straws, bananas.
Goodie bags | these were seriously so much fun to make. We bought gold sacks from Party City and added; play dough, bubbles, fruit snacks, a bouncy ball, and a ring pop. Since there were kids from ages 1-4 there, I wanted to make sure the goodie bags were able to go to all of the kids.
Activities | we had a safari animal making station that was seriously so dang cute.
Milestone board | I got a ton of questions where this was from, and I got it from Etsy! There are soooo many options for ever birthday theme you could ever think of on there. I bought a 16×20 size and had it printed at Walgreens, and put it in a poster frame.
