When I asked on Instagram if you all would want to see more posts about how we incorporate oils into our household, the answer was yes! So I’m starting off this little series with how we use oils for Nathan (our toddler) specifically. I always strive to try natural remedies first, especially with sleep and teething issues, and these oils are now a staple for us to keep on hand.
These are our top five Young Living essential oils that are a must for us to have for Nathan now. He is 14 months old, so whenever I use oils on him I always dilute them with fractionated coconut oil.
Sleepyize – hands down our favorite smelling oil in our household. We diffuse this every single night not only for Nathan, but also because I need this to sleep now.
Tummygize – the holy grail oil for colicky and gassy babies. I cannot tell you how many times this oil has saved us. Tummygize is what made my husband a believer in essential oils. We have a few drops mixed with carrier oil in a roller bottle and roll this on Nathan’s tummy when he needs it. It is definitely not my favorite smelling oil, but it truly helps.
Gentle Baby – this is a new oil to us, but so far I am in love with the smell. It’s so so calming! I’ve made a roller mixed with lavender and carrier oil, when Nate (or mama) needs to chill out.
Thieves – I feel like Thieves is a must during sick season. The cleaner, the oil, the hand sanitizer. Give me all the Thieves.
Copaiba – Great for teething babies. You can apply this neat on the gums or mixed with carrier oil and apply to the jaw line. We do both!
I hope this post helps! I felt overwhelmed when I first started using them, but once you find what works for you, they become a part of your daily routine!
What are your favorite oils for yourself or baby? I’d love to hear!
