Makeup Favorites – Winter Edition (Dry Skin)

November 9, 2017 by Vivian 13 Comments

Every year around this time when the weather finally starts to cool off, my skin becomes even drier than it already was. I like to switch up some of my products to accommodate for the extra moisture my face needs – because dry patches are #notcute – I’m a pretty routine person, so besides eyeshadow looks I typically will wear this exact base of face makeup every single day and have been loving it.

This post contains affiliate links, which means I make a small commission if you decide to click or buy from this post. I only recommend products that I personally use and love.

Moisturizer |

Clinique Moisture Surge – If I could have an unlimited supply of this moisturizer I would be the happiest girl in the world. I’m already dreading running out of it! By far my favorite skincare product for quite some time now and I still haven’t found anything that compares.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream – This cream is a must have during the winter. It helps significantly with all of the dry patches on my face and anywhere else. I’ve noticed some people don’t care for the scent but it’s never bothered me enough to stop using it!

Primer |

TooFaced RX Hangover Primer – I’m not sure I’ve ever found another primer that is as hydrating as this one. I’ve tried many and this is hands down the best for my dry skin. If you’re really in a rush it could be used as a quick moisturizer. Plus, the smell is great! I still use my priming and setting sprays but this primer I have to use every single day for my dry skin.

Foundation |

Covergirl Healthy Elixer Foundation – This is a new-ish product for me. I’ve been using this Foundation non-stop for about a month now and LOVE it. As a dry skin girl I feel like this gives the perfect glow and really does help to make my skin look and feel healthy. Plus it has SPF 20 which is perfect for me.

Concealer |

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer – No doubt my favorite drug store concealer out there. I get really horrible dry patches around my eyes in the winter and this concealer NEVER accentuates them or adds to the dryness. Perfect for every day and provides the coverage that I personally prefer.

Setting Powder |

IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Anti-Aging Setting Powder –  I know a lot of oily skinned girls love this product, but so do I! I’ve never had a problem with it creating extra dryness at all – in fact it seems to do quite the opposite and blur any dry patches. It works great under my eyes and all over when I’m doing a quick look.

Contour |

Jordana Sculpt N’ Go Contour Stick (Light) – Before this product, I was never a fan of contour sticks or even cream contour products – but I’ve finally found one that does not look muddy on my skin, while not drying out my skin either. They have several shades of this contour stick, I use the lightest shade and think it looks great!

Highlight |

Smashbox Spotlight Palette (Pearl) – When you have really fair skin like I do, some highlighters can look way too intense and fake on my skin. Since I’ve purchased this Palette I haven’t put it down. Gives me the perfect natural glow that I need when my skin is dry.

That pretty much sums up my everyday base of makeup that I wear and am loving! If you’re a fellow dry skinned girl, let me know you’re favorite products that I need to try – or if you have oily skin, have you tried any of these products and loved them too?
