Top Five Apps for the New Mom

February 28, 2018 by Vivian Leave a Comment

Since having Nathan I feel like I use my phone even more than I did before (if that was possible). I am constantly googling things and even doing homework and blogging on my phone when I can’t set him down. I have found some new favorite apps that I have been using religiously since having him that I think other moms would enjoy!

top five apps for the new mom

Glow Baby | I have used the Glow apps for years. From tracking my cycle, during my pregnancy, and now that he’s here there are a ton of great resources on the app that I love. You can track feedings and diaper changes – I tried to do this in the beginning but failed miserably. I personally love it for the community and the updates on where Nathan is by his age.

Wonder Weeks | This is a new app that I am loving! It shows you when your baby will make leaps and what those leaps mean for growth. I have been reading the chapters that come with the app as well and it honestly has helped me so much just to better understand what he is going through mentally and why your baby may be extra fussy or want to feed more often.

Amazon | I think every parent needs the Amazon app. You can make purchases with two day shipping on baby items and not have to worry about lugging your newborn out of the house. We also use the Amazon Music app and this is awesome to make playlists and use with our Alexa around the house.

Cradle | This is a sound machine app with a ton of different options. You can string different sounds together, adjust the length of each one and the volume. Great for on the go!

Think Dirty | A must have for me now that I have a baby! You can scan and look up household items (cleaners, beauty products, etc) and see how toxic these items are on a scale and view what ingredients may be harmful. I have become so more more diligent about looking things up on this app that we are putting on Nathan. I have been so surprised by certain household items I thought were more “safe” but actually were on the highest level of toxicity.

Honorable mentions: The note app is probably my most used app for writing lists of things we need, things we need to do, typing out homework and blog posts. It’s really hard to have my laptop on me with a baby so my phone is always attached to me. Snapchat and Instagram are also a favorite so I can send photos to my husband and family during the day.

What are your must have apps? Have you tried any of these, let me know if there is any apps I should download!
