It’s time for another update! I truly am baffled at where time is going…I feel extremely sad that I definitely don’t have a tiny newborn anymore, in fact Nathan weighs at least 21 pounds (I’ll find out for sure next week) and is a straight up CHUNK! He is wearing 6-9 and even 9-12 month clothes! I am loving seeing his personality but time is such a thief. Motherhood is bittersweet. I find myself wondering when I’ll finally get a good night of sleep but then I remember that this is just a season and things change so fast. Although, I am pretty exhausted (I’ll talk more about sleep soon).
Nathan is changing every single day. Within the past month he has mastered rolling with perfection and rolls repeatedly until he gets where he wants to go. It’s hilarious to watch. He’s obsessed with our dog pepper, his eyes light up and he gets the biggest smile on his face when he comes near him. It makes my heart so happy to see them love each other. He especially loves petting him and letting him lick his toes.
He is a chatter box and I can only imagine that when he starts talking he won’t stop! He loves to make noise and babble. Us singing songs and reading books is probably his favorite thing right now. He is OBSESSED with Four Little Ducks song and book and will cry when it’s over until I sing it again. He also loves swimming which is great because we love to be in the pool!
Sleep is still a hard and dreaded topic for me. I was completely against sleep “training” until six months and honestly I’m still iffy on it. I really hate hearing him cry, so it would be really tough. Plus, I want him in our room until a year. We have gotten naps pretty consistent lately and thankfully most days he takes two good naps and one cat nap. Through the night he still wakes up about four times and wants to be up for the day between 5-6:30 am – no matter what time he goes to bed. I plan on asking recommendations from his pediatrician at his appointment next week but as of now we just stick to our bedtime routine and keep trying every night. I know it won’t be like this forever. We follow the eat, play, sleep schedule and it seems to be working just fine!
He hasn’t started solids yet, but I’m positive he will after his appointment. I am still dairy free and had pizza the other day to “test the waters” and definitely will remain dairy free for a while longer, lets just say his tummy did not agree.
His blue eyes are still here and I’m crossing my fingers that it means they are here to stay. I am going to do a separate post all about our favorites for months 3-6 because we definitely have a lot! It’s so sad that we’re putting away his Rock N Play, and Boppy Lounger and exchanging them for a high chair, and play mat.
